Thumbs Up for Israel-France Conference (Sponsored by Eitan-Mehulal Law Group)
On April 11, 2008 Iris Pappo on behalf of the Eitan-Mehulal Law Group, sponsored and helped organize a conference in Paris for the promotion of business relations between Israel and France.
Adv. Pappo also helped organize a similar conference last year which took place in Tel-Aviv, Israel. It is important, in her view, to take note of the many business ventures and transactions taking place over the past few years between Israel and France. Also noteworthey is the fact that 20% of Israel's population speak French, which can greatly contribute to the ease of joint ventures between the two countries.
Topics of special interest in this years' conference were international commercial ventures and in particular - - taxation and real estate issues.
The conference took place in the Parisian Chamber of Commerce and hosted 120 business men and women from both Israel and France, and was considered by all to be a great success!
Participants & speakers from the Firm included Adv. Iris Pappo, partner in the Commercial & Antitrust Departments, Adv. Yaron Mehulal, partner in the Taxation Department and Adv. Keren Betser, Partner in the Real Estate Department.
The guest of honor was Edith Carson who was prime minister of France during the 1990's and is currently serving as the president of the scientific committee of the Israel-France Foundation.
Among the participants in the conference were representatives of banks such as Credit Agricole, French National Bank and HSBS.
Also in attendance were representatives of Litwin (a construction company and daughter company of Bateman-Litwin), AFIC - French Venture Capital Association and BULL S.A. among others.
